Once that happens, it can be a very aggravating process trying to get the doors back open. Lastly, decide what level of security feature you want for your overhead garage door. Models that open manually will generally come with a center lock that can be opened and shut with a key. For my money, the better bet for an overhead garage door would be a model that operates with a remote. The remote will allow you to eliminate much of the hassle when leaving or entering your home that the manual model will create. After you purchase your garage door, the installation is best left to the professionals. Most companies that sell doors will provide an installation service that is not too pricy considering the work involved in setting your door up- especially if you have chosen a remote model. It is also critical that the garage doors are installed properly, as they are one of the first lines of defense in your home and improper installation can also lead to serious injury. Installing an overhead garage door is not a project for an amateur handyperson.
